Style
When you shop for the Mazda3 the first decision you have to make is what style of car you want. Both seat five people comfortably in two rows, have four doors, and are crafted with high-quality materials and an interior design that feels opulent.
But while they offer identical amounts of headroom, legroom, and shoulder room for passengers, they differ when it comes to cargo space. Where the sedan has a traditional trunk in the rear that can hold up to 13.2 cubic feet, the hatchback is a little more flexible with 20.1 cubic feet. Which style and cargo area you prefer comes down to personal preference, but our team can introduce you to both to experience them firsthand.
Trims
Once you've decided on the ideal style to suit your personality, it's time to take a closer look at trim options. Mazda makes this car available in three trims, with an increasing level of both power and features the higher you move in the lineup. The roster includes:
- Mazda3 2.0
- Mazda3 2.5 S
- Mazda3 2.5 Turbo
Performance
Not only is there a range of choices in style and trims for your Mazda3, but there are also multiple engine possibilities. Which one you get depends on the trim you choose and, best of all, depending on your preferences, this car can also come with all-wheel drive, which is perfect for drivers who enjoy the peace of mind that this added traction has to offer. Options include:
- 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 155 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque, which serves as the entry-level powertrain for the base trim Mazda3 2.0 and is strictly front-wheel drive.
- A 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 186 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque. It is standard for the second trim, the Mazda3 2.5 S and it can be either all-wheel or front-wheel drive depending on what you're looking for.
- A top-tier, turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with standard all-wheel drive and either 227 horsepower or 250 horsepower, depending on the type of gas you put in your car. This is the only powertrain for the top-of-the-line third trim, the Mazda3 2.5 Turbo.
